Praised for her "sweeping dramatic talent" and her "delightful and impressive deep voice, with a particularly beautiful color and powerful projection", the Israeli Mezzo Soprano Shay Bloch performs regularly with the Israeli Opera in a wide range of repertoire. In her international career she has debuted in the theaters of Parma, Modena, Ravenna, Piacenza, Rimini, Reggio Emilia, Sofia, Ljubljana, Festival Pucciniano di Torre del Lago and others. Her repertoire ranges from Oratorio and Lider to main mezzo soprano roles in the Operatic literature. Ms. Bloch has recently performed Azucena in Il Trovatore (Verdi) in the opera houses of Ljubljana, Tel Aviv, and in Japan Opera Festival, Nicklausse in Les Contes d'Hoffmann (Offenbach), Suzuki in Madama Butterfly (Puccini) and Olga in Eugene Onegin (Tchaikovsky) in The Israeli Opera. In the upcoming season she will sing the role of Eboli in Don Carlo (Verdi) in Teatro Galli do Rimini, Fenena in Nabucco (Verdi) in Ente Concerti Marialisa de Carolis and she will return to the Israeli Opera where she will perform the roles of Madame de Croissy in Dialogues des Carmélites (Poulenc), Maddalena in Rigoletto (Verdi) and Third Nymph in Rusalka (Dvořák).
